being cute and/or adorable, being able to stand up to stupid silver-haired men, impeccable aim with materia, spot-on impersonations of her family, the ability to handle large businesses while alone, throwing incredible tea-parties, drawing, and she's probably picked up a bit of bartending. She also has exceptional common-sense.

But seriously, Marlene has the power of a Sorceress. Sorceress Power is quite unique, especially to each Sorceress. They are known to use telekinesis, teleportation, telepathy, mind control, mental possession, control over the elements, bringing live into inanimate objects, barriers, the ability to go through solid matter, and enhanced strength and endurance. While Marlene is only 12, she had barely tapped into the limitless power she possesses. It is known, however, her specialty is Water Magic. She has shown some abilities in Time magic as well, due to inheriting her abilities from Ultimecia.

Marlene was brought to Time and Tides and the world of Gaia from the end of the events of Advent Children. It was there that she was reunited with several members of her family, as well as friends. Starting over was a bit of an adjustment, but with new-found friends from the other Final Fantasy worlds, she learned to settle in quickly. She quickly made friends with all she met, though most notably her best friends were the Princess of Lindblum, Eiko, and the painter, Relm. Many would say that the three of them meeting was fate, because they were inseparable after that.

Marlene didn't have a lot of impact on the world around her until one day, the Sorceress Ultimecia appeared before her. In her last dying act, Ultimecia transferred her Sorceress powers to Marlene. In an instant, Marlene became a major player in the world. Only few people had sorceress powers.

In the span of a few short months, because of these powers, she met a lot more people. She went under the tutelage of Rinoa and Ellone, and Onion Knight became her Knight. She struggled over the usage of her powers, learning how to control them and her emotions at the same time.

Eventually, it was discovered that there was a way to send people back home if they wished it. Marlene, with the help of Rinoa, Ellone, and the witch Matoya, had figured out a way. Marlene and most of her family had chosen to stay, but she knew of people who went back home. She was also instrumental in the final battle against Chaos.

After Chaos was defeated, Marlene settled into a quiet life on Gaia with the rest of her family. She had been on Gaia for 3 years before Chaos defeated, and then another 3 were spent before the rifts took her.

Marlene is your typical young girl. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, whether she's happy, or sad, or worried. She's taken on many aspects of Tifa's personality due to living with her so long, with Tifa having taken Marlene under her wing. She's very caring, always worrying about others. She has no problem standing up to others and taking care of herself, like she did when Tifa left to join Cloud and Barrett on AVALANCHE missions. She always tries to be optimistic, even during tough times.

She has also taken on aspects of Aerith's personality, as evidenced by her feeling Aerith's presence during Cloud's battle with Sephiroth during Advent Children. She's upbeat and cheerful, always trying to cheer others up. Like most of everyone, she was raised in the slums, and likes to think she can take care of herself. On the other hand, she gets upset very quickly. She's innately an empathic little girl. She feels Aerith's presence during the battle with Cloud and Sephiroth. She wants to be able to help out, and will try her hardest to do so.

Because Marlene never knew her real family, she considers Barret her dad, and Tifa, Cloud, and Denzel as the rest of her family. Because of this, she's extremely protective of them, even if she can't fight herself. She tries defending Tifa from Loz, and she tells Cloud to never give up. She's always caring for Denzel as well. She has a strong bond with her father, Barret, and often tries to imitate him. She has no problem saying the truth in any situation, and doesn't like to lie about things. She also has no problem saying what's on her mind, either, much like her father does.

Being on Gaia did little to change Marlene's personality. If anything, seeing more of the fight they had to go through made her more of an outspoken girl when it came to standing up for what was right. She's insanely passionate about people finding their true love or their happy ending, and wishes it for everyone. Fiercely protective of her friends and family, especially after gaining her powers. She wanted to do what was right for them, wanted to protect them from the evils in the world. She told that to Ultimecia even before knowing what she was accepting. She's learned to control her emotions more, but as a young girl going through life, there's bound to be a few mistakes. Her friends and family have helped her control the magic she's learned so far, and Onion Knight, her knight, helps her stand up for herself.
